Oak Hill Country Club, Rochester, New York

Oak Hill Country Club is home to two championship golf courses designed by Donald Ross in 1924.
The East course is currently ranked #20 in the country by golf digest. Oak Hill is the only golf course in the
country to have hosted every traveling men’s major in golf, most recently the 2019 Senior PGA Championship.

• Proven ability to effectively motivate, train, and lead a staff of 60+ individuals.
• Ensured supervising and organization of staff would meet specific goals that provided 36 holes with championship conditions on a daily basis.
• Supported the management of 4 equipment technicians and a $4 million dollar equipment inventory.
• Mentored, trained, and helped facilitate the professional development of interns, and assistant superintendents.
• Recruited, interviewed and hired seasonal staff members to fit Oak Hill’s model of “Be The Best”
• Assisted in preparing, justifying, and managing a $3.7 million dollar operating budget, along with $250k-$1 million dollar capital budget.
• Supported Manager of Golf Course and Grounds on every aspect of a $5 million restoration project on the famed East Course. Including construction of 20 new USGA Spec greens, complete bunker renovation, fairway expansions, extensive drainage, and multiple irrigations upgrades and rerouting.
• Worked with architect Andrew Green to achieve his vision for Oak Hill’s 2019 Restoration.
• Senior management role in preparation, and success of the 2019 Senior PGA Championship, while including the prioritization and supervising of the overall restoration process.
• Monitored and managed 36 holes of irrigation requirements, totaling over 3,500 individual sprinklers in order to provide aesthetically attractive turf that also provided firm and fast conditions.
• Guided and coordinated staff on all cultural practices and agronomic programs to be done in a timely fashion with least disruption to membership.
• In conjunction with Manager of Golf Courses and Grounds, strengthened an agronomic program on the West Course with 90 year old poa/bentgrass greens, while also instituting an agronomic foundation for the brand new USGA bentgrass greens.
• Oversaw duties of staff Horticulturist and certified Arborist to achieve their yearly goals.
• Worked in conjunction with Manager of Golf Courses and Grounds and Architect Andrew Green on a comprehensive tree removal program for all 36 holes to remove undesirable species and restore the original intent of Donald Ross.
• Established and maintained excellent working relationship with General Manager, Golf Professional, Executive Chef, and Human Resource Manager.
• Hosted monthly meetings with Tournament Director to ensure accurate maintenance coordination to deliver a high caliber experience for both member tournaments along with outings.
• Developed and managed a winter snow removal schedule and plan, including maintenance of two paddle tennis courts.

• Responsible for estimating, designing and the installation of multiple drainage projects totaling 12,000 linear feet.
• Assisted in the professional development of interns.
• Responsible for preparing and executing all snow removal on property as needed.
This provided membership and their guest’s with safe driving and walking conditions.
• In charge of estimating and early ordering of hand tools, irrigation supplies, golf course accessories, small equipment and moisture meters totaling over $35,000.
